Watching the Pelosi and Daschle responses was almost painful. They looked confused and confounded--helped along by the fact that they wrote those responses well before seeing the actual speech.
I still say that Bush's toughest critics (that is, the most meaningful and reasonable, not the most attack oriented) come from the right and not the left.
